Antique Japanese Imari Boat Dish - Meji Period 1868-1912

This is a Japanese Imari dish in the form of a boat featuring a beautiful brocade design featuring floral and bird motifs. This is a fantastic collector's piece as it offers a simple, yet elegant design that is of the traditional style and themes, yet unlike many of the similar pieces I have come across. The reds, blues, and golds are of the traditional Imari palette, and the unglazed bottom is consistent with Imari ware of its time. The curved edges of the boat are adorned with blue waves and decorative dots. 

Dimension: 9.25" :L x 6.5" W x 1.5"H

Condition: This is a very old piece of Imari ware and it wears the minimal signs of its age proudly. While the colors are vibrant, there is a patina of time that gives it a wonderful antique appeal. Aside from a small flea-bite nick on the rim of the boat there is no noticeable damage.
